It is very light weight, small enough to fit in a shirt pocket and takes great pictures.
The battery is rechargeable and recharges inside the camera when plugged in, the batteries seem to last a long time too. The LCD screen is large and pleasant to use. It has face detection and scene recognition all helpful in taking a good quality picture, just hold the shutter half way until it focuses then take the pic. This would be a good camera for anyone even electronically challenged people.
Even the buttons are intuitive enough to not get confused. The camera seems to be durable and when shut off the lens detracts and closes, protecting the lens with a plastic shield automatically. The pictures are clear and vivid. Win XP and Vista both will recognize the camera without even installing the software, I can use adobe to get the pictures and sort them.
